Here’s A Woke Company Which Maybe Ought To Be Made An Example Of

Editor’s Note: this was a press release from Louisiana Right To Life, and it’s a pretty ugly little story of cancel culture.

The brew-pub in question has the right to refuse service to people they consider undesirables, but that sword cuts both ways – because the people might very well find the brew-pub undesirable and render it empty and broke in no time flat…

On October 13th, Second Line Brewing in New Orleans abruptly canceled an event that was to be hosted by the Catholic Charities Pregnancy Services with the Sisters of Life. Catholic Charities was informed that they had to find a new location despite scheduling the event in advance with Second Line Brewing. Louisiana Right to Life is encouraging Louisiana < Second Line Brewing’s products.

In their statement, Second Line alleged that they were “unaware of the nation of the event.” They also claimed that, in canceling the event, they were upholding the values of diversity and inclusion.

Sarah Zagorski, Communications Director for Louisiana Right to Life, said the following about Second Line Brewing: “It is a disgrace that Second Line Brewing hung Catholic Charities out to dry. For many years, Catholic Charities Pregnancy Services has offered amazing assistance to moms in the New Orleans area, helping them with resources and support both before and after birth. In 2022, Catholic Charities distributed 147,000 diapers to needy families, and in September of this year, they gave out over 18,000 diapers!”

Zagorski continued, “Instead of promoting inclusion and diversity, Second Line Brewing is discriminating against citizens striving to help moms and babies. We call on Louisiana citizens to refrain from purchasing Second Line Brewing products until they publicly apologize to Catholic Charities for unjustly discriminating against them.”

Louisiana Right to Life has added Second Line Brewing to their Boycott List, and urges New Orleanians to contact them through the online petition available here.
