SKRMETTA: Obviously, I’m For Trump. Here’s Why You Should Be, Too.

Editor’s Note: a guest post by Public Service Commissioner Eric Skrmetta.

I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States.

This will come as no surprise to my Louisiana friends. I’ve been on Team Trump since its earliest inception. I had the honor of serving as Louisiana Chairman for both the Trump 2016 and Trump 2020 campaigns. I also served as a Trump delegate at the conventions in both in 2016 and 2020.  As President of the Louisiana electoral college in 2020, I was thrilled to be able to publicly declare my vote for Donald Trump for President.

But here are my reasons for reviving my public support for President Trump. Our country has not fared well over the last three years, neither domestically nor internationally. Our country needs a proven leader who will help us regain our economic health and international respect. During President Trump’s first term all Americans, of all races and creeds, enjoyed prosperity and safety, largely unknown in recent history. I am convinced that as President, Donald Trump will usher us back into national prominence and prosperity.

In the final week of the presidential campaign of 1980, Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter had their final debate in which Ronald Reagan presented his devastating question to Jimmy Carter. Reagan asked, “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?” The voters knew the answer was no.

If that question were posed again today, the answer would be the same. We have an opportunity to redirect the path of this nation under the steady guidance of a proven leader, Donald Trump. President Trump understands that people established the government, and that government exists to serve the people.  I believe President Trump will lead this nation by:

  • Defeating the menacing Cartels and correcting the failures in immigration policy
  • Curtailing inflation and promoting value in the economy for our citizens
  • Promoting peace through foreign policy, much as he did in his first term
  • Dramatically reducing homelessness for veterans throughout America
  • Correcting adverse issues associated with illegal aliens
  • Working with America’s auto workers to correct the path to the future
  • Working with families to champion those who choose to homeschool their children
  • Improving schools so they can improve opportunities for our youth to gain employment
  • Leading America to the lowest energy and electricity costs in the world
  • Returning the production of essential pharmaceuticals back to the United States of America
  • Calling for the death penalty for those convicted of human trafficking
  • Rebuilding America’s military into the fighting machine that it is capable of being
  • Reclaiming higher institutions of learning from the influence of the radical left
  • Obtaining fair trade agreements with full reciprocal rights with foreign nations
  • Using public health services of the United States to fight drug addiction
  • Reducing federal regulations and the regulatory authority of the unelected government
  • Ending the Marxist Equity executive order that’s pervasive in the federal administration
  • Ending the open espionage of communist China inside the United States of America
  • Saving American education and give power directly to the parents
  • Protecting Medicare and Social Security
  • Promoting free speech, and ending the federal government’s efforts to curtail the first amendment rights of the public

So, I ask you to join me and with your vote and endorse Donald Trump for President. Louisiana       votes in its presidential primary March 23. I hope to see you on the campaign trail, and I definitely hope to see you at the polls.
