This might just be the best speech we’ve seen Sen. John Kennedy give, and we had to pass it along.
Kennedy’s talking here about the utterly stupid and petty political decision to impose a moratorium on LNG export terminals, which will have the effect of shutting down the American natural gas industry at least to an extent.
As we’ve written here and elsewhere, this decision was proffered as something which benefits the environment. That’s a lie, of course – what it really amounts to is a punishment of Texas and Louisiana for standing together at the border against Biden’s border invasion.
But Kennedy doesn’t really go there. He talks about geopolitics and economics rather than petty border politics in this speech.
He says, and rightly so, that Biden’s LNG moratorium will kill dozens of multi-billion dollar construction projects, including Calcasieu Pass II in Louisiana.
And he notes that natural gas is the cleanest-burning fuel there is, if you aren’t using nuclear power, so there is zero evidence that “some meathead activist on TikTok who doesn’t like natural gas,” as Kennedy notes, has a viable argument.
He goes through the history of Biden’s idiotic anti-energy decisions and what they’ve cost Americans.
“Stupidity should hurt more,” he says, noting that you can’t reform idiocy but you can vote it out.

And he goes into a litany of America’s enemies who have been getting well off Biden’s policies while the domestic oil and gas industry has taken it on the chin – from loosening sanctions on Venezuela and Iran or selling off our Strategic Petroleum Reserve to Biden’s Chinese friends.
Kennedy calls this appeasement of the “loon wing” of the Democrat Party, and he demands that his colleagues on both sides of the aisle do something about it.
Which won’t happen, of course. We already know that the “loon wing” controls the Democrats, and has done so ever since Barack Obama came on the scene.
But these things must be called out. Kennedy does so, and deserves recognition for it.
