So we saw that Joe Biden decided to favor the American public with a visit to our southern border yesterday. That could only be a pathetic attempt to salvage his reelection hopes, because he has so terribly botched the border situation that illegal immigration has become THE defining issue of the 2024 presidential election. This is as it should be, because when one political party admits nine to ten million illegal immigrants over a three year period just to further its own future election hopes, while ignoring the objections of a clear majority of the nation’s citizenry, there should be consequences, just not the ones the Democrats expected.

And naturally, it went poorly…

National polls now consistently show that close to three quarters of the American public, including many Democrats living in sanctuary cities, are demanding that the border be controlled. This is only after the devastation wrought by three years of the Biden administration’s intentional failure to control the border, has become so glaringly evident. Biden is briefly visiting the border today to express his concern for the situation, and we are sure to hear consoling remarks from this man’s lips over his concerns about the border, through Election Day. How insulting!

Does he think that we are fools? Does he think that we have forgotten that in the first days of his administration, his executive actions opened the border and by his very own words he invited illegal immigrants to cross it? And dozens more executive orders flowed from his pen in the early days of his administration, until border controls were effectively dismantled and Donald Trump’s successful border protection measures had been completely nullified.

And the consequences? To put this catastrophe in personal terms, consider that just in recent days, a twenty-two year old nursing student in Georgia was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, who had already been charged with a crime in New York, but released. A two year old child was killed in Maryland by an illegal immigrant, and a fourteen year old Louisiana teenager was raped at knifepoint and a man was stabbed, by an illegal immigrant from El Salvador.

But the total tragedy inflicted on this country at its southern border is now well beyond human comprehension. Joe Biden and his Democrat policies have exacted a death toll that mirrors the human casualties of a major war.

Consider that at least eight hundred of those migrants perish EVERY YEAR in their attempt to reach this country, that is, eight hundred men, women, and children die a horrible death along both sides of the border, counting only those whose bodies are discovered. The unburied, Sun-bleached  bones of hundreds more lie for miles on either side of the Rio Grande River, waiting to be discovered and given a proper burial.

Consider the many thousands of crimes perpetrated every year by illegal immigrants on American citizens and those legally within our borders, which includes hundreds of murders and thousands of rapes, robberies, burglaries, drug deals, etc. Consider the deaths from Fentanyl overdoses in this country, and that most Fentanyl enters America through our southern border. FYI, and you should sit down before reading on, the number in 2021 was SEVENTY THOUSAND DEAD, while in the past two years, teen overdose deaths linked to Fentanyl have tripled.

Consider the huge social costs and social dislocation which this country has born and will continue to bear over the next twenty to thirty years, until this tidal wave of illegal immigrants becomes reasonably acclimated and productive. Consider the social benefits and job opportunities denied to American citizens and those legally in the country. Consider the unfairness which Democratic policies have visited upon the hundreds of thousands of people seeking a legitimate path to becoming American citizens, patiently waiting their turn in a line which has become a pathetic farce.

Joe Biden knew this would be the result of his opening the borders, but he chose to placate the powerful Progressivist wing of the Democrat Party, instead of fulfilling his oath to protect the borders of America. We are all the victims of this man’s actions, every one of us, citizens and legal residents alike.

But there is hope, because today the southern border was visited by another man who has a successful track record of protecting our borders and running our country without massive inflation and record deficits. That man is, of course, Donald Trump, and let us hope that he will soon resume his interrupted presidency. This country may not survive another four years under Joe Biden!
