Willie from Slidell, who called into CSPAN and unapologetically declared the two would-be Trump assassins were patriots (like Willie says he is, of course), is an old fart with no filter.

He’s also a good example of the poison that cable news outlets like CNN and MSNBC are injecting into the public’s veins (you can argue Fox News does the same thing on the right, but watch both sides for a little while and you’ll come to a quick conclusion that Fox News is absolutely soft in its partisanship compared to MSNBC).

Presumably Willie from Slidell also takes the New Orleans Times-Picayune, which is similarly poisonous and is also an outlet espousing the views of the Big Money Left, which is antithetical to traditional American morality and civics pretty much across the board.

Regardless of where his violent, poisonous views came from, what we can say about Willie from Slidell is that he’s by no means alone. A Scott Rasmussen poll (which, remember, is different from Rasmussen Reports now; he sold that company and is doing a different thing) came up with some staggering numbers…

A majority of Democrats say they are either “unsure” if America would be better off if Trump had been murdered over the weekend or flat-out say America would be better off.

This poll of 1,000 registered voters was taken by Scott Rasmussen, president of RMG research, on September 16-17 on behalf of Napolitan News.

“The desensitization of some Americans following the second assassination [attempt] of former President Trump is alarming,” writes Napolitan News. “Seventeen percent (17%) of voters believe America would have been better off if former President Trump had been killed in last week’s attempted assassination.”

That’s not the worst of it.

There is just no question that Democrats like Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, along with their corporate media allies, especially at CNN and MSNBC, have accomplished their mission in radicalizing Democrats into seeing former President Trump as something less than human, someone who deserves to be murdered.

The most troubling numbers can be found in the crosstabs…

RMG Research asked, “While it is always difficult to wish ill of another human being, would America be better off if Donald Trump had been killed last weekend?”

The result?

Well, a majority of Democrats do not find it difficult at all to “wish ill of another human being.” Only 47 percent of Democrats said no to that question, while 28 percent said American would be better off if Trump had been murdered and 25 percent were unsure.

In other words, 53 percent of Democrats are either okay with Trump being murdered or on the fence about it.

That’s how you get Willies. Most of them aren’t dumb enough to show their asses on C-SPAN, but it doesn’t take very long to smoke out the animus these people have – not just for Trump, but even more for his supporters.

Who are generally speaking a bunch of people who would rather be American citizens rather than citizens of the world, who think there is such a thing as a national culture, which derives from Christian Western civilization, that is worth keeping, and who think there should be places our government shouldn’t go in our daily lives if we aren’t hurting our fellow man.

Modern Democrats might say they’re for those things, but they only really say that because they think they’re supposed to. They don’t believe in free speech or the freedom of religion or the right to bear arms. They don’t really believe in “democracy,” unless it’s this new formulation of “Our Democracy” the Democrats have cooked up which is more like an oligarchy and a bureaucratic tyranny than a democracy.

And what they really don’t believe in is the idea that their power or ideas should be challenged.

To them, government is God. God doesn’t really exist. So the idea that their side wouldn’t hold political power is abject apostasy. It can’t be tolerated.

Along comes Trump, who isn’t simply not a Democrat but also refuses to live within the tight guardrails previous, tamer Republicans did, and it’s the scariest thing ever for these people.

And yes, they want him dead.

They’re not so committed to the well-being of his supporters, either.

We should have a national conversation about this, but it’s not a certain thing we’ll like how that discussion goes.

But thanks to Willie from Slidell we’re closer to having it than ever before.
