Well, this sure is a bad little rebuke for Louisiana’s most prominent crypto-gay Green New Deal neocommunist politician. It seems that his big mouth has overwhelmed the bipartisan ecumenicalism of the Louisiana Public Service Commission.
The Public Service Commission voted to remove Davante Lewis as vice-chairman at a Wednesday morning meeting after Lewis called Gov. Jeff Landry an “asshole” on social media less than a week ago.
The commission voted 3-2 to remove Lewis and named commission member Eric Skrmetta vice chair.
Lewis’ position was put up for a board vote after he insulted Landry following the governor’s support of newly confirmed Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Landry had posted a photo of the newly confirmed Kennedy next to a photo of former Secretary of Health Rachel Levine, saying on social media that Kennedy was a “major upgrade in the @HHSgov Secretary department.
“Lots of work to be done, and excited for @RobertKennedyJr to get started. Let’s Make America Healthy Again!” Landry posted.
In response, Lewis posted the following:
“This tweet shows that conservatism right now is only about cruelty and chaos. They will find away to be cruel to someone just bc they can… What a completely asshole you are @LAGovJeffLandry.”
Mike Francis, the current chair of the PSC, really should have known better than to have Lewis as the vice-chair. Republicans have no business giving Democrats such honorifics. The voters of Louisiana have made it very clear that we want Democrats to have as little political power as possible. We reinforce this by delivering massive electoral rebukes to that party in every election which isn’t in a safe Democrat district.
Which Lewis’ is.
The other Democrat on the Public Service Commission, Bananas Foster Campbell, is the sole remaining white Democrat in any elected position higher than the Louisiana Senate, and when Campbell is termed out in 2028 he’ll almost certainly be replaced by a Republican.
The GOP’s control over the PSC has been less secure than its 3-2 majority would indicate, and that’s a shame. Former commissioner Craig Greene sided with Campbell and Lewis on things like “energy efficiency” (which turned out to be a grift) and “renewables” far too often. One hopes those flirtations are gone now that Jean-Paul Coussan has replaced Greene.
We’ll see.
What we know, however, is that Lewis has made himself a marked man by calling the governor an asshole over a comparison practically everybody in America could note between RFK Junior and “Rachel” Levine, who was the Number 2 man at HHS during the Biden administration. It was political malpractice of the grossest kind to white-knight for Levine, but it shows just how dumb the Hard Left in America really is.
And Lewis is not one of the brighter bulbs on that marquee by any means.
Which we’ll prove. Here’s what Lewis posted on X right after he was bounced out as vice-chair…
That’s a private text message from Francis that he screen-shotted and blasted out into the world while complaining about being treated unfairly. One wonders exactly how he thinks that was a good move.
That is, if one gives a fig about Davante Lewis’ problems, and we would submit that not many people do.
So it’s off to FAFO Island for him, and now Lewis can go off and lick his wounds for having been rebuked on the PSC.
