We’re still seeing a lot of angry leftists whining on social media about the announcement several days ago that Planned Parenthood is closing its facilities in Louisiana.
Planned Parenthood will close its two clinics in Louisiana on Sept. 30 as the organization faces funding challenges under President Trump’s tax and spending package.
Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast President Melaney Linton said in a statement the Louisiana closures are a “direct result of relentless political assaults.”
“This is not a decision we wanted to make; it is one we were forced into by political warfare. Anti-reproductive health lawmakers obsessed with power and control have spent decades fighting the concept that people deserve to control their own bodies,” she wrote.
She added that “extremists” lawmakers have done everything in their power to try and “defund” Planned Parenthood and dismantle public health infrastructure and prevent Americans from receiving needed health care.
“Every health center closure, every patient who goes without care, every undetected cancer and untreated infection is on those lawmakers’ hands.”
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill (R) called the clinic closures “welcome news” on a post to the social platform X.
“Planned Parenthood built its business around promoting death. Louisiana chooses life. We will always protect women and babies.”
This is pretty similar to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting announcing that they’re going to close their doors after getting defunded in the rescissions package which passed on Capitol Hill last month, in that both organizations spent a great deal of effort pushing the lie that your tax dollars were a very small part of their revenues. CPB took pains to let everybody know that federal money was only eight percent of their funding, but as soon as it went away they shut down.
And Planned Parenthood has gone on and on about how abortions are a teeny-tiny part of their operations because what they’re really about is “women’s reproductive health.”
The organization is not allowed to provide abortions in Louisiana, but it did help patients access out-of-state abortions.
The Baton Rouge and New Orleans clinics provide Louisianans with other reproductive and primary health care including birth control, cancer screenings and sexually transmitted infection testing, and treatment.
Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast said the two Louisiana health centers provided 17,791 visits for 10,627 patients last year — including nearly 30,000 STD tests, more than 14,000 birth control visits, 1,795 cancer screenings, and 655 ultrasounds among other preventive sexual and reproductive health services.
Yeah, OK.
Funny how they didn’t mention the other big piece of their business model, which is to provide “gender-affirming care” – otherwise known as giving puberty blockers to confused kids they’re grooming for transgender insanity. Planned Parenthood is the largest dispenser of chemical castration drugs in America.
And the Planned Parenthood clinics in Louisiana claimed for a long time that they “don’t do abortions.” They just convinced women to get them and then set up appointments at abortion clinics. And now that abortion isn’t legal here, they’ve been busing people out of state to get them.
And as soon as your tax dollars can’t be siphoned off to fund all this, they take their ball and go home.
What’s entertaining about this is we were on the email list for Planned Parenthood of the Gulf Coast for a long time, and we’d get their announcement/invitation email every year for the big fundraiser they’d throw in New Orleans. And the list of people for the Host Committee was always the hoi polloi of White Uptown New Orleans society.
The kind of people who absolutely, positively would never have their daughters get an abortion – or certainly wouldn’t let it be known that something like this would have happened in their family.
But they proudly showed up to give money so that the Planned Parenthood clinic on Claiborne Avenue near the projects would be well-staffed.
It always struck me as the most obviously racist thing I’ve ever seen. These people were basically Xerox copies of Margaret Sanger, the genocidally psychotic woman who started Planned Parenthood as an exercise in eugenics. Sanger wanted to kill off as many disabled people, and especially as many black people, as she could, because to her they were defective and society would be improved if we were rid of them.
That’s not an accusation or a theory. Sanger was VERY open about her views. Not like the Planned Parenthood Host Committee types who’d tell you that they couldn’t be racist because they wrote checks for Obama and LaToya Cantrell, while also writing checks to pay for the abortions of kids who look like them. But the ideas are the same.
What’s fun about this summer’s events is that the rest of us don’t have to pay to subsidize this charade anymore. Now we know – either you’re forced to prop up their horrors, or the horrors go away.
And all it took was the sand to say no, and also to not care about the horrific names these people call you when you say no.
