(Citizens for a New Louisiana) — In 2024, Louisiana citizens witnessed something revolutionary: a public, data-driven legislative dashboard that gave everyday people the same access to bill tracking, committee data, and vote analysis once reserved for insiders. Built by Citizens for a New Louisiana, this StateLens dashboard transformed the way advocacy groups, journalists, and voters engage with their state government — offering real-time insights, organizational vote recommendations, and committee schedules in one clear, easy-to-use platform.
Now, that same technology is coming to Oklahoma.
Why StateLens Matters
For too long, the legislative process has been buried under layers of jargon, clunky websites, and insider-only communication. StateLens changes that. It connects the dots between lawmakers, bills, committees, and organizations, letting citizens see — at a glance — who’s standing up for their values and who’s not.
It’s more than a website. It’s a grassroots intelligence system designed to:
- Reveal how legislators actually vote (not just what they say),
- Track bills from introduction to final passage,
- Unify advocacy organizations around shared priorities, and
- Equip citizens and legislators with verifiable, public-source data to act confidently.
In Louisiana, the dashboard became a hub for collaboration between organizations that might otherwise never have crossed paths. Groups with different missions but shared principles discovered they were fighting the same battles—and began coordinating testimony, strategy, and public outreach. That’s the power of making data transparent and available.
Launching in Oklahoma
Now, Oklahoma’s Liberty Coalition and allied citizen groups are stepping up to bring StateLens.org to life in their own state. The platform is already being adapted to Oklahoma’s legislative data systems — but it takes significant time, technical integration, and financial resources to implement a full-scale launch.
To make that possible, we’ve partnered with Oklahoma grassroots leaders to raise $10,000 to cover initial setup, development, and data integration. Every dollar helps push this project closer to launch — empowering Oklahoma citizens with the same powerful transparency tools that have reshaped civic engagement in Louisiana.
“If we want real accountability, we have to make it easy for citizens to see what’s really going on. StateLens puts that power back in the people’s hands.”
