I agree with President Trump that US Congresswoman Dr. Julia Letlow is the absolute best choice we have in Louisiana for US Senate in 2026.

I’ve had a unique perspective, I knew my Louisiana Tech College Republican recruit and friend Luke Letlow was incredibly lucky to be dating her when I met her at the Independence Bowl in Shreveport with him. I was a guest at their wedding in 2013 where Luke’s groom cake had a “Vote Republican” portion to it. I was in Richland Parish with them on Luke’s victory night when Luke won, and his funeral.

I will always remember one conversation I had with Julia at one point in the process when she was deciding to run for Congress initially after her husband’s death and I had a question for her and her answer was firm and resolute, “I’m ready.” She won that race handily and has served us in the 5th District of Louisiana extremely well in Congress for a few years now. I’ve been blessed to be able to help in some various minor ways since.

Julia is ready for the US Senate! Early on when the rumors started last year about this possibility, I decided that I would support Julia for US Senate if she chose to run. Like many of you in Louisiana, I have plenty of relationships and long-standing friendships with some of the others that are currently in this race as of when I write this. I am making a vow to abide by Reagan’s 11th Commandment when discussing this race with others. (I know some of you won’t, I understand) Some of those other candidates now will have to go into a serious time of prayer on Sanctity of Life Sunday (I’m writing this late on Saturday night) if they will stay in the US Senate race. Those decisions are between them and God and I will respect them. We should be praying for them to make the right decisions as well.

I look forward to helping Julia in any way I can. I don’t exactly know what this will look like yet, but I figured it start with penning these thoughts after I shared my initial support on Facebook. As I indicated in my Facebook post about this, I’ll head to church in the morning (Sunday) and pray about how to best be of help.
