Dear President Trump,
I want to put something important before you.
Iran must be dealt with—there is no question about that. It has been a persistent threat and a destabilizing force in the world. But history teaches us something we cannot afford to ignore: nations do not fall primarily from external enemies—they fall from within.
And that is where America must take a hard look at itself.
You yourself have acknowledged that we have forgotten God. But when a nation forgets God, it does not just lose belief—it abandons His laws. The principles that sustain a people begin to erode: honoring the family, respecting what belongs to another man, exercising discipline, and living under moral accountability.
These are not abstract ideals. They are the foundation of a stable civilization.
At the core of this is human nature. Since the fall of man, the struggle has always been internal first. Human nature, left unchecked, does not drift toward order—it drifts toward indulgence, disorder, and decay. And when a nation begins to cater to its worst impulses rather than restrain them, it unleashes destruction from within.
That is what we are witnessing now.
A culture driven by endless pleasure. The breakdown of families. Policies and systems that reward dependency over discipline. A mindset that elevates self above any higher authority. These are not signs of strength—they are symptoms of decline.
And what is even more dangerous is that America is not only experiencing this internally—we are exporting it to the rest of the world—filth, decay, and moral confusion.
The Founders understood this clearly. As James Madison wrote, “If men were angels, no government would be necessary.” Government exists not just to defend against foreign threats, but to maintain order within—to restrain the consequences of fallen human nature so that a people may live in peace—not only from external enemies, but from internal turmoil.
There are forces within this country—ideological, cultural, and moral—that pose a greater long-term threat than any nation with weapons. Because once a people loses its moral foundation, no military power can preserve it.
History makes this plain. Look at the Fall of the Roman Empire. Rome was not destroyed at its height—it decayed from within long before it collapsed from without.
So yes, confront Iran with strength and clarity. That must be done.
But at the same time, call this nation back to the principles that made it strong. Because if we continue to indulge the very vices that weaken us, no bombs, no planes, no military might will be enough to save us.
And while we remember the great sacrifice paid by our Lord and Savior—the King of kings and Lord of lords—we must also remember that the ultimate Governor is Jesus Christ. It is in Him that we live, and move, and have our being. A nation that loses sight of that foundation loses the very source of its life and order.
I believe you are one of the most consequential presidents this country will ever have. But no leader, no matter how strong, can preserve a nation that refuses to correct its course.
Look outward—but focus inward.
Because if we fail to deal with what is happening inside this country, America will fall.
