This took place yesterday. It didn’t get all that much attention, which is too bad. Because it was outstanding. John Hinderaker at Power Line called it the most important speech of the 2012 campaign cycle, and he’s probably right about that.
Pawlenty is still a little flat compared to, say, Herman Cain – who’s lighting it up on the trail. But on substance, ever since he announced for president there really isn’t anybody better out there than the Minnesota governor.
One wishes that Pawlenty and Cain could be combined. You’d have one hell of a candidate if you could mash them up.
This was an absolutely excellent policy speech. He hit a home run, or at least a double, with every idea expressed in it.
