KOENIG: Did You See Letlow’s Vote On The New FBI HQ?

A few weeks ago, Congressman Matt Gaetz proposed an Amendment to prohibit House appropriations from going to fund a new FBI headquarters location. To no one’s surprise, 70 Republicans voted against Gaetz’s amendment and betrayed conservative voters in the process.

The FBI boasts a long, sordid history of corruption and bias against conservatives and Christians alike. Yet, Republican Congressmen still decided to gift the FBI with a brand-spanking new building. Truly disappointing.

Here is a statement that “America First” Congressman Matt Gaetz released after the GOP’s betrayal on this issue:

“Time after time we have seen the FBI target President Trump, people who believe in the Second Amendment, parents attending school board meetings, and more recently, some of their own brave FBI whistleblowers who have spoken up about the weaponization of our Federal Government,” Gaetz said in a statement following his failed amendment. “We should not be awarding nefarious behavior by wasting hundreds of millions of dollars for a new headquarters in the DC area.”

“Although my amendment failed, I will continue my fight to defang and defund government agencies that have been weaponized against the American people,” Congressman Gaetz said.

Out of Louisiana’s 6 member congressional delegation, only two members voted against Gaetz’s logical amendment. One was Democrat Congressman Troy Carter. The other was Republican Congresswoman Julia Letlow. She was the only Republican member of Louisiana’s Congressional delegation to send our tax dollars to pay for a corrupt FBI. This vote puts Letlow on the same side as notorious leftists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, and others.

To my knowledge, no one in the Louisiana politics called out Letlow for this terrible vote, and Louisiana deserves Congressional representatives who won’t vote to further fund corrupt Federal agencies.

I hope that Congresswoman Letlow is aware of the FBI’s inexcusable actions in recent years. Here is a list of what the FBI has been up to in recent years:

-The FBI’s raid of President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in August 2022

-The FBI illegally surveilled American citizens over 300k times in 2020 and 2021

-The FBI’s Chief of the Foreign Influence Task Force encouraged Big Tech companies to throttle the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 election cycle

-The FBI’s reported involvement in the January 6 protests

So then, do Julia Letlow and other Republican Congressman support these actions by the FBI? Do Republican politicians support the FBI’s political persecution of American patriots? If not, then why did 70 Congressional Republicans reward the FBI with a $300 million building?

She needs to do better. Louisiana patriots deserve “America First” congressional representatives who won’t sell out their interests to the Washington DC Swamp. Letlow let down the citizens of Louisiana with that vote; let’s hope that she starts to get serious about holding the FBI accountable and quits funding the expansion of a corrupted and weaponized federal agency operating far beyond its legal charter.
