Editor’s Note: a guest post by Louisiana state representative Danny McCormick, a Republican from Oil City in the northwest corner of the state.
Starting under the Biden administration and continuing today, Congressman Mike Johnson’s votes have veered away from the conservative principles he claims to represent. Meanwhile, Congressman Thomas Massie has stayed true to an America-First agenda, standing firm on fiscal responsibility, individual liberties, constitutional values, and accountability.
As Johnson’s constituent, I’m calling on him to step up and match Massie’s commitment, especially on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files to expose elite corruption and deliver justice to victims of Epstein’s child trafficking ring.
In 2024, under Biden, Johnson cast the deciding vote to kill an amendment requiring warrants before the government spies on Americans, then supported the bill, expanding surveillance and trampling our Fourth Amendment rights. Massie pushed hard for those warrants, protecting our privacy.
On Ukraine funding, Johnson flipped to support billions starting under Biden, pouring our money into foreign wars. Massie consistently said no, keeping America’s needs first.
Worst of all, Johnson is blocking the Epstein files. Massie’s bill, supported by every House conservative, demands the release of flight logs, court documents, and evidence to uncover Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring and the elites who’ve dodged justice. Johnson criticized Massie, shut down Congress early to avoid a vote, and is keeping the cover-up going six years after Epstein’s suspicious death.
Massie’s record shows the kind of America-First leadership we need. Johnson’s slide since becoming Speaker—backing debt, spying, foreign wars, and secrecy—doesn’t cut it. I urge Speaker Johnson to get back on track, support Massie’s bill, and release the Epstein files now. The victims deserve justice, and the American people deserve the truth.”
