We’re big fans of both of these guys, though they take more or less opposite views on the Wikileaks mess. Napolitano says that while the thief of the documents in question ought to swing Julian Assange isn’t a bad guy for publishing the stuff. Bolton says Assange isn’t protected by the First Amendment and that Wikileaks is a foreign entity which has attacked America and should suffer the consequences.
It’s to a large extent a fight between the theoretical and the practical. It illuminates the fact that this is some pretty tough stuff and it calls for hard-nosed leadership to handle.
