Louisiana 2011 Legislative Analysis – Introduction

Now that Governor Jindal has signed the redistricting plans for both houses of the Louisiana Legislature, it’s time to analyze the new demographics for the legislative districts drawn. We will start with the newly created districts. From there, we will move on to districts held by retiring/term limited legislators, then we will finish up with districts held by incumbents who at this time are running again. This analysis is meant to be a guide for potential candidates and/or consultants, so they can go into the election cycle knowing their districts at a high level.
