GET THE POPCORN: Anonymous Now Threatens To Destroy Westboro Baptist Church

In response to the Westboro Baptist crowd threatening to picket the Newtown funerals. They’re claiming the Newtown murders are just a taste of what’s coming as a result of the legalization of gay marriage. God’s wrath and so forth.

Kinda torn on this, between the desire to let these two sets of losers slug it out until there are no survivors and the concern for civil society when gangs of deranged idiots are fighting a war of attrition.

Not to mention that Anonymous is more dangerous than Westboro Baptist Church. Westboro Baptist Church is an offensive gaggle of troglodytes who poison the morale of decent people every time they show up to picket a funeral, but Anonymous is a bunch of keyboard Adam Lanzas with a demonstrated capability to do real damage to innocent people.

That said, it’s interesting to see this…

In case the computerized voice is too much to handle, the money quote…

“Since your one-dimensional thought protocol will conform not to any modern logic, we will not debate, argue, or attempt to reason with you. Instead, we have unanimously deemed your organization to be harmful to the population of The United States of America, and have therefore decided to execute an agenda of action which will progressively dismantle your institution of deceitful pretext and extreme bias, and cease when your zealotry runs dry.

“We recognize you as serious opponents, and do not expect our campaign to terminate in a short period of time. Attrition is our weapon, and we will waste no time, money, effort, and enjoyment, in tearing your resolve into pieces, and with exposing the incongruity of your distorted faith.”

Anonymous has apparently already hacked into a mailing list or something and now claims to have virtually all the information they could ever want on all the members of Westboro Baptist Church. And since they’ve threatened to destroy them, you can imagine what a bunch of computer hackers could do to the WBC people.

They’re also backing a White House petition to have Westboro Baptist Church labeled a hate group. While calling Westboro Baptist Church a hate group isn’t particularly objectionable – it’s obvious that’s what they are – it isn’t all that productive for the federal government to label them as such. After all, this White House, had it the power to act upon a designation of “hate group” with any particular consequences, would certainly abuse the power.

But for good or evil, we’re going to have the Great Anonymous vs. Westboro War now. Get the popcorn.
