Our Secretary of State Hillary Clinton hasn’t been seen in public for three weeks, and her curious absence from the political scene has generated explanations the Right has justifiably disparaged as a cover story for her avoidance of testimony before congressional inquiries into the Benghazi massacre and her role in it.

The latest of those explanations has Clinton suffering from a bout with the flu, getting dehydrated, passing out and falling down, which led to her hitting her head and getting a concussion – and now she’s developed a blood clot as a result.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was admitted to a New York City hospital on Sunday after doctors discovered that a blood clot had formed, the State Department said in a statement.

Philippe Reines, a deputy assistant secretary, said in the statement that the clot stems from a concussion Clinton sustained several weeks ago.

Reines said that Clinton, 65, is being treated with anticoagulants at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. She will be monitored there for the next 48 hours, he said.

“Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion,” he said. “They will determine if any further action is required.”

But of course we’re not told where the blood clot is…

Dr. Roshini Raj, a physician at New York University Medical Center and a contributor to the TODAY show, says it’s not at all clear where Clinton’s blood clot is – which is important for understanding how serious her medical condition is.

“It’s a little murky,” Raj told TODAY. It is uncommon for a concussion alone to cause a blood clot. More likely is a blood clot elsewhere from lying in bed to recover from a concussion, Raj said.

This is what’s being called “Benghazi flu.” It sure is a bitch.

Offensively flimsy medical disinformation like this will inevitably give rise to counter-narratives; that might well be a feature rather than a bug for Clinton’s handlers.

What seems obvious is that while Clinton might well be under the weather of late, she’s attempting to play out the string as Secretary of State without having to testify on Benghazi – because doing so will quite likely put a cork in whatever chance she might have to emerge as the Democrats’ standard-bearer in 2016. And since the Republicans on the Hill know this, they’re insisting Clinton’s proposed replacement John Kerry not get a confirmation hearing until Clinton testifies.

But the Republicans are a bunch of mean old white guys, and insisting that a poor, sick woman endure their bullying just shows how persistent they are in prosecuting the War on Women…right?

So maybe there’s another angle to this. And Clinton’s buddies the Russians have come up with it…

This GRU report, however, states that US military flight logs recorded by Russian air and space forces confirm that Commander Price, and other members of US Navy Seal Team 4, left their base in Urozgan Province, Afghanistan on a flight to US Naval Support Activity Bahrain where they met up with Secretary Clinton and all of them transferred to the C-12 Huron that began a flight path to Baghdad, Iraq.

Within minutes of leaving Bahrain airspace, this report says, the C-12 Huron carrying Secretary Clinton and her US Navy Seal protectors, “without notice,” deviated from their assigned flight path heading, instead, directly towards Iran’s Ahwaz International Airport where, coincidentally, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had previously landed on an “unscheduled” visit.

Important to note, GRU analysts say in this report, was that when the C-12 Huron entered into Iranian airspace neither American nor Iran air force units responded clearly indicating that this secret mission was sanctioned.

Upon the C-12 Huron landing at Ahwaz, however, this report says it encountered “extreme turbulence” causing it to leave the runway where its main landing gear then collapsed causing it to crash.

Within seconds of the C-12 Huron crashing, this report continues, Iranian emergency and security personal responded freeing the victims, including Secretary Clinton who was reportedly unconscious and “bleeding profusely.”

After emergency aid was given, GRU agents stationed in Iran state that another US military flight was dispatched from Bahrain to Ahwaz which evacuated all of those wounded and killed in the crash including Secretary Clinton.

Strangely to note, this report says, is that in the aftermath of this crash, Iran’s main oil company announced today that they were buying the Ahwaz airport with the intention of moving it because, they say, oil was discovered beneath it.

Is this a crazy theory? Most of what the Russian intelligence services let out into the public domain is completely nuts. So is this, probably.

But do you believe the flu/concussion/blood clot story has any more basis in reality? That’s obviously a bunch of crap.

Pick whichever bunch of crap you like where Hillary is concerned. It’s all she’s offering – because she’s certainly not explaining why her State Department sent an ambassador to possibly the most dangerous city in the world with virtually zero security, or exactly what his mission was over there.
