Today Is Frederick Douglass’ Birthday


We’re not actually sure when America’s greatest civil rights leader was born. But his mother called him “My little Valentine,” and as a result he chose Feb. 14 as the day he’d celebrate his birthday.

Because of that fact, the CATO Institute put this video up of adjunct Robert McDonald’s speech on Douglass…

Frederick Douglass is being lost to history. We’ve got to bring him back, because this was a great man. A great man. And the country needs to recognize him as such.

In fact, Frederick Douglass needs to be the subject of a biopic in the way Malcolm X was. Malcolm X couldn’t hold a candle to Frederick Douglass.
