First up this afternoon, though, is the American Solutions Townhall Summit at the Marriott starting shortly. Newt Gingrich is giving a talk on job creation, outlining five tax reforms to spur economic growth:

• A two-year 50 percent reduction in the payroll tax to boost take-home pay of workers and give employers a little extra cash to flow back into their businesses.
• Allowing small business to expense 100 percent of new equipment purchases each year to boost technology and productivity.
• Abolish the capital gains tax.
• Matching Ireland’s 12.5 percent corporate tax rate.
• Dumping the death tax.
