With the help of an energized citizenry, we were one step closer to stopping Obamacare in Louisiana after a vote of 5-4 in the Senate Health and Welfare Committee sent HB 1474 to the full Senate on Wednesday of last week.
However, it was politics as usual when Senate President Joel Chaisson (D-Destrehan), knowing time was not on our side, intervened to recommit HB 1474 to the Senate Finance Committee to kill this bill.
Fortunately with YOUR phone calls, emails and generous donations our conservative voice echoed throughout the halls of the Louisiana State Capitol yesterday and we were able to get HB 1474 back on track!
With the help of Senator Danny Martiny (R-Kenner), we sent a message that was loud and clear to Senate President Joel Chaisson and his Senate Democrat regime: the hard working Louisiana taxpayer wants and deserves a choice in health care!
The action from Senator Martiny recalled HB 1474 from its grave in Senate Finance and it could be heard by the full Senate as early as today.
By bringing HB 1474 back to the table after a failed attempt by the Senate Democrats to kill the legislation, we let it be known we are SICK of the Democrats’ politics as usual!
With just six days remaining, now more than ever, we must ramp up our efforts and continue to send the message to President Chaisson and the entire Senate that Louisianians do not want Obamacare. We want the freedom to choose our own health care in Louisiana.
Louisiana has had enough of Federal Bureaucracy with Katrina, Rita and now the horrible oil spill. Let’s keep them away from our health care!
