Chastant’s employee, Ismael Viera, 21, 2607 Bayou Bend Road, was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail Monday night on second-degree murder charges.

Turner said the two had an argument at the horse stables Monday morning. He would not specify what the argument was about.

Chastant was reported missing around 9 a.m. Monday after he did not show up to his office at 8:30 a.m. as scheduled, Turner said.

His vehicle was recovered Monday at the Walmart shopping center in New Iberia, Turner said, and by 7 p.m. Chastant’s family had not heard from him.
