Leadership, Tim Geithner Style

This is the guy who we were told is indispensable to our financial system, and only he could be trusted to get us out of the crisis. Remember that? It didn’t matter that Tim Geithner cheated on his taxes – he was the guy we had to have.

Why? Because he knows what he’s doing, right? He’s got expertise. And judgement.

Tim Geithner worked at the International Monetary Fund. Now, the revelations are tumbling out of the IMF in the aftermath of the Domonique Strauss-Kahn disaster that the women working there practically needed taser guns to keep the lecherous old bastards like DSK out of their pants.

So Geithner must have known about that, right?

Well, not exactly. Because he’s a man. Men don’t know about these things.

Via Ace.

What bullshit. He’s an even less convincing liar now than when he spun that bilge about his taxes.

And this is the guy we’re supposed to listen to when he tells us there’s a calamity coming if we don’t pump up the debt ceiling? He doesn’t even have a clue when female coworkers are getting treated like sex slaves – or he doesn’t have the stones to have done anything about it – and we’re supposed to make major policy decisions based on Geithner’s representations?

Our problems stem from the fact that we have crappy people like Tim Geithner in elite positions of power.
