Quote Of The Day, November 9, 2011

“I don’t even have words to talk about the betrayal that I feel. [McQueary] was a grown man, and he saw a boy being sodomized … He ran and called his daddy?”

– the mother of one of the alleged victims in the Jerry Sandusky-Penn State child rape scandal, referencing the behavior of key witness Mike McQueary, who in 2002 as a graduate assistant walked in on Sandusky in the shower with another victim – a boy of only 10 – in flagrante delicto and failed to notify law enforcement. McQueary ultimately notified head football coach Joe Paterno, who told athletic director Tim Curley, and the incident was swept under the rug.

McQueary is now Penn State’s receivers coach and recruiting coordinator, and he had to have crossed paths with Sandusky, who had an office at Penn State until last week, countless times. One wonders how it’s possible for McQueary to have tolerated the presence of someone he witnessed sodomizing a child for nine years and not done anything about it.
