This will be the first time some of these people who lost their freakin’ minds over what was – yea, OK, I’ll say it – a hideous game in the Dome on Jan. 9 to maybe get their sanity thing on again.

LSU is good. Real good. LSU is probably better this year than they were last year. LSU had bad quarterbacks last year. This year? They’ve got a really good quarterback. The spring game will probably show that.

LSU is likely right back where they were last year at the end of this season. Except they’ll have less competition. It sucks to admit it, but that was a terrific Alabama team they lost to in January. But Alabama got gutted after that season. LSU? Not so much. You trade out Jordan Jefferson for Mettenjesus and you get better even if you lose a lot. Which LSU did, but none of the guys they lost were irreplaceable.

So today it’s time for a lot of those bunker-dwellers to go out, look at a shinin’ sun and drop all that “woe is me” business. It’s a new year.
