The two major Republican opponents to Neil Riser in the special-election race for Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District, who are fighting it out for a chance to get into the runoff with Riser, are up on the air with ads this week.
Clyde Holloway’s ad came first…
A bit biographical, as one might expect given that Holloway is well-known in the district and he’s seeking to trade on that goodwill and name recognition.
But Jay Morris’ ad has a bit more juice to it…
Holloway apparently has an internal poll showing him with a 5-point lead over Riser. There is a Democrat poll out there which has Riser at 39, Holloway at 19 and Monroe mayor Jamie Mayo at 18.
The primary is set for October 19.
