As Obama, Kerry, McCain and Graham walk around trying to convince the American public that Bashar al-Assad is not only a meanie and a bad, bad man for having gassed his own people if not outright killing them, it’s been noticed nobody is even broaching the possibility the Sarin Gas might have been used by Al Qaeda.

It’s like Obama and Kerry really believe that crap they spout about Al Qaeda being “decimated” and as such are weakened beyond repair and regeneration. To Obama and Kerry I’d say; “You people are entirely too stupid to conduct governance over a nation as powerful and as good as the United States of America”.

I think Bashar al-Assad is a fool and a stooge holding Vladimir Putin’s Jolly Roger to assure the support he needs is close at hand. And for this happy and collegial association we see Russia’s latest chance to embarrass the feckless and incompetently administrated operation Beaurat Obama describes as foreign policy. Where Putin shows resolution and clarity in his operation and control of Russia’s Affairs of State, Beaurat Obama has lowered American esteem on the world stage to a point somewhere below a septic tank. Obama’s personal reputation bears the obvious stains of that tank’s leakage.

But; back to Al Qaeda. It’s been a campaign of mine to make people aware of the exact definition of the term: “to decimate”. It is as follows: 1. to select by lot and kill every tenth man 2: to exact a tax of 10 percent 3a: to reduce drastically especially in number 3b: to cause great destruction or harm www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary

Okay, the word decimation is derived from Latin meaning “removal of a tenth” so it does indicate a significant diminishment to a total population of a fighting force. But the totality of the force is noted as 100% and a subtraction or 10% would leave a combat force of 90% of its original strength. Surely it’s recognizable that the loss of 10% of your fighting force is not good; it must also be recognized that 90% still lives to fight on (and I’ll bet with a heckuva lot more desire to kill more of the enemy than they displayed before the decimation). Add to this 90% the numbers regularly recruited as “freedom fighters” and “jihadists” and “true believers of Mohammed’s word” and you could have a larger fighting force than you started with.

Kerry keeps mentioning the different groups and accepts them as individual entities and because they don’t list “Al Qaeda” on their business cards he assumes they aren’t Al Qaeda. The following is derived from the website MY STATE DEPARTMENT:

Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) are designated by the Secretary of State in accordance with section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). FTO designations play a critical role in the fight against terrorism and are an effective means of curtailing support for terrorist activities.

1. 1.        It must be a foreign organization.
2. 2.        The organization must engage in terrorist activity, as defined in section 212 (a)(3)(B) of the INA (8 U.S.C. § 1182(a)(3)(B)), or terrorism, as defined in section 140(d)(2) of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1988 and 1989 (22 U.S.C. § 2656f(d)(2)), or retain the capability and intent to engage in terrorist activity or terrorism.
3. 3.        The organization’s terrorist activity or terrorism must threaten the security of U.S. nationals or the national security (national defense, foreign relations, or the economic interests) of the United States.

How is it the Secretary of State can look at the vastness of this array of Radical Fundamentalist Islamic organizations and say it’s only Bashar al-Assad is capable of using weapons of mass destruction (WMD) to extend their control over the Middle East?

It must be remembered this is one of those moments I refer to as a “shiny object revelation”. Obama’s caught so much flak for his apparent foreign policy impotence. His Secretary of State is apparently oblivious to what’s going on in the world outside of the slip he stores his yacht in the Nantucket Boat Basin docks in Nantucket Harbor as Egypt erupted again over the Fourth of July. Now, Obama needs to be seen as resolute, powerful and dedicated to humanitarian efforts to stop the genocide of Syrian mommies, daddies and kiddies at the hands of Bashar al-Assad. It doesn’t matter nobody’s proven unequivocally that Bashar al-Assad is guilty of this. Bashar al-Assad is the shiny object presented to distract us from other options.

All I need to change my seat at this table is a clear, definitive statement that America, Russia, Great Britain, France and Israel are all on the same page with confirmable intelligence that Assad is guilty. That requires they be in accord with each other and acceptant of this intelligence as fact. I don’t see it on the horizon and as long as Kerry and Obama keep mincing words and parsing the truth they spoon feed the American public, it’s arguable they’ll never be believable.

And for me, dedicating American assets and resources to destroy an economy, and a peoples’ security in a region noted for insecurity and partisan warfare doesn’t seem right just because a known opportunist and self-serving politician needs to look good to ensure his party doesn’t lose the next election and possibly the Congress.
