More Obamacare Arrogance Courtesy Of Mary Landrieu

The Weekly Standard has a piece up this afternoon about Sen. Ron Johnson’s bill, to be introduced tomorrow, that would reinstate the legality of all health insurance plans which are currently in force – saving as many as 11 million people from the inconvenience and higher cost of having those plans forcibly dumped by health insurers attempting to comply with Obamacare and being herded into the Healthcare.gov exchanges.

Johnson’s bill will, of course, go nowhere in Harry Reid’s Senate – but that could carry a political cost to some Democrat incumbents in that body…

Johnson’s bill, which will be introduced on Wednesday, could put Democrats in a tough spot. Asked Tuesday to explain the news that millions of Americans were losing their insurance policies, contrary to the president’s promise, Senate Democrats responded with a mixture of denials, evasions, and historical revisionism. Nearly all refused to say if they opposed Johnson’s bill.

Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire expressed shock that so many Americans are losing their current plans. “We knew that they would need to sign up again, but obviously I don’t think anybody thought people would be kicked off their health insurance plan,” said Shaheen, who refused to say if Americans should be able to keep the plans they had in 2013.

“He didn’t say anything wrong,” Senate majority leader Harry Reid said when asked about Obama’s promise. “That was true.”

According to Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Democrats had only promised that Americans could keep their insurance if it was “good insurance.”

“We said when we passed that, ‘If you had insurance that was good insurance that you wanted to keep it, you could keep it,'” Landrieu said.

She declined to say if she would support a measure to let Americans keep the plans they had in 2013. “I haven’t looked at it specifically,” Landrieu said.

Wait, stop. What was that again?

So Mary Landrieu has now picked up on the mind-blowing arrogance of this clown…

The mentality of this is really amazing, isn’t it?

Democrat politicians, most of whom have never sniffed a real job in their lives and are catastrophically ignorant about how the real world operates, actually presume to dictate to the rest of us what health insurance policies we should have and what policies we shouldn’t.

Naturally, most of us – in the individual market in particular – buy what health insurance we can fit into our budget.

Bloated morons like Mary Landrieu can’t even decide on a budget in their day jobs, and have in the last five years have run up some $7 trillion in debt, imagine themselves qualified to decide our options for us.

And this is somehow acceptable. Nanny-state tyranny at the hands of dangerously incompetent liars like Landrieu is acceptable.

Jim Antle had this right.

We’re a year and a week away from a shot at putting an end to Mary Landrieu’s political career.

Just win, baby.
