Reality Comes To The Governor’s Wife

This is really turrible, no?

Following a dismal ratings scorecard, A&E appears to have dumped “The Governor’s Wife.” The network aired all four of the season’s remaining episodes Sunday, Nov. 10, between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon.

The TV show-specific website currently says new episodes air at 10 p.m. on Sundays, but “Duck Dynasty” re-runs rolled on through the time-slot Nov. 10.

The show, which stars former La. Gov. Edwin Edwards and his wife, Trina, lost 35,000 viewers between its first and second episodes in its first night, and reviews from across the country were generally unfavorable.

And so unexpected.

Not even Fast Eddie’s claptrap about runnin’ for governor or something again could save the show. A&E saw the ratings cliff and ran away from it like it was Fast Eddie’s 1984 World’s Fair in New Orleans.

Maybe they could do a reality show about Seymour D. Fair in Fast Eddie’s place. I imagine he’s all fat and old now, and prolly they’d have to fish him out of some dive bar in the Marigny, but that’d be more original than one more TV show about some gold-digger Anna Nicole Smith wannabe with fake boobs and mean daughters-in-law who are old enough to be her mom.

Has-been Pelicans are a lot more original, no? Eric Gordon notwithstanding.

As for Fast Eddie, he gets to change diapers and listen to the gold digger whine about how she don’t get to be a coonass Kim Kardashian.

Y’know how sometimes crooks will go get themselves caught so’s they can go back to prison and get away from the real world? Watch your wallet while Fast Eddie’s around.
