In a video address, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) talks about his outrage over the allegations regarding the Veterans Affairs scandal, which reportedly left 40 veterans dead because of long waiting-times at VA hospitals.
Vitter sent a letter to to President Obama’s Chief of Staff, Denis McDonough, in advance of a scheduled meeting with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), asking McDonough to get Sanders to stop blocking legislation to authorize twenty-seven Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC), including clinics in Lafayette and Lake Charles La.

Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA), who is facing a tough re-election, has not commented on the VA scandal publicly thus far.
