House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was sideswiped by a teenager when he decided to confront her with questions regarding the National Security Agency’s (NSA) practices of massive data collection.
“Why do you support the NSA’s illegal and ubiquitous data collection?” asked Andrew Demeter, a self-described investigative reporter who runs the TeenTake YouTube channel.
“Well I, I do not, I have questions about the metadata collection that they were, uh, collecting,” Pelosi answered.
As obvious in the footage, Pelosi went from her infamous frozen smile to taken-off-guard quickly. The teen hammered Pelosi on the issue, though she said she has been a fighter in the House for privacy rights. But, Demeter quickly noted that Pelosi voted to continue funding the NSA, in which Pelosi responded “Of course.”
