VIDEO: Scalise On Fox News Sunday

Yesterday, the new House Majority Whip got his first piece of extended national airtime in his new job – he was a guest on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.

It went OK. Not great, but OK. Wallace kept trying to pin him down on things like whether the House would adjourn for an August recess or call for Obama’s impeachment, and Scalise wouldn’t go there. That dominated the interview. But toward the end he had a good answer on things the House can do to unite the various factions within the Republican Party and the conservative movement. He also said he wasn’t interested in another government shutdown, would push for the RSC’s healthcare plan and wouldn’t back down from his previous calls for adjusting the Social Security eligibility age to 70 and Medicare eligibility to 67.

And then he ended with “Geaux Tigers,” which was solid.
