IF YOU’RE EXPLAINING, YOU’RE LOSING: Mary Landrieu Defends Her DC “Townhouse”

It’s clear the accusations about Sen. Mary Landrieu’s $2.5 million mansion in Washington, DC have gotten to her. She’s now on the campaign trail badmouthing her crib.

Here is video, from a campaign stop Saturday in Bogalusa…

Landrieu starts by decrying opponent Bill Cassidy’s residence on the LSU lakes in Baton Rouge and then waxes indignant about the characterization of her abode in the nation’s capital, seeking validation from a third party on stage that she actually lives in a “townhouse.”

Plus, she owns a house in New Orleans, she says. That would be her parents’ house, which she supposedly owns a one-tenth share of.

It’s a townhouse, but as America Rising notes it’s not a typical townhouse…

Why? Because Landrieu lives in a 7,316 square foot D.C. mansion with 5 bathrooms, 4 water heaters, 2 dishwashers, and 82 fire sprinkler heads.

Meanwhile, Landrieu does not own any developed property in Louisiana and bunks with her parents on the occasions she visits the state.
