New Orleans Residents To Celebrate ‘Sinkhole De Mayo’ This Year – Here’s What Is Going Down

New Orleans residents are celebrating this Cinco de Mayo with a parade down the streets of the city in honor of the sinkhole that crumbled the ground right outside of Harrah’s New Orleans Casino.

A Facebook event has been made to celebrate what residents are calling “Sinkhole de Mayo” as a way to poke fun at the massive 30 feet deep sinkhole in the middle of New Orleans.

Here’s what the event’s all about:

Come out to the first ever Sinkhole de Mayo. Celebrate another ‘Catastrophic Failure’ the best way we know how: dancing, drinking, and general revelry. Bring your instruments, sombreros and margaritas, bring your traffic cone pinatas, and your makeshift maracas.
The event is from 4 pm to 8 pm at Woldenberg Riverfront Park.
