While four New Orleans historical monuments are expected to be coming down soon, thanks to a plan by Mayor Mitch Landrieu to purge iconography from the public square that is deemed ‘offensive,’ at least four monuments were vandalized today.

Labeled with the words ‘Take Down White Power,’ the activist group Take Em Down Nola defaced City Park’s PGT Beauregard statue, the Jefferson Davis monument, the Father Abram Ryan memorial and a monument to Charles Dreux.
