Trump Slams CNN: “When You Report Fake News, You Are The Enemy Of The People”

Addressing the press in the wake of the election results, Trump faced a determined Jim Acosta. Trump told CNN’s Acosta multiple times “That’s enough,” yet Acosta refused to be comply. An administrative aide then attempted to free Jim from his microphone, but he was not going to allow that to happen. Jim continued to demand he the most powerful man in the world comply to his wishes, even after being repeatedly told no.

Once Trump walked away from the microphone, this signaled that his patience had worn thin, and the exchange was no longer going to be as pleasant when he returned. Acosta was persistent on wanting to hear the President’s opinion on the two-year-old Russia collusion story now that Democrats were the majority in the House. Trump has said repeated, and did so again at this press conference, that the Russia collusion story is a hoax.

Democrats, now with a majority in the House, may very well spin up investigative efforts to try and pin something on the President. However, since Republicans gained seats in the Senate, it is incredibly unlikely that any kind of impeachment effort would follow through with a removal of office.

Trump lead his return to the microphone with, “CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them.” The President followed with, “You are a rude, terrible person. You should not be working for CNN.”

“You are a very rude person. The way you treat Sarah Huckabee is horrible,” Trump said. “The way you treat other people is horrible. You shouldn’t treat people that way.”

Another reporter immediately tried to come to Jim’s defense. Trump quickly shot that down with, “I’m not a big fan of yours either.” Interrupting the reporter’s continued remarks, Trump threw in, “You aren’t the best.”

This provoked Acosta to enter back into the exchange, as he stood back up and began talking once again. Trump had enough of CNN’s Acosta at this point, and directed him, “OK, just sit down please.”

Speaking over the growing chaos of the scene, Trump gave his final hush to CNN and Acosta, “When you report fake news, which CNN does a lot, you are the enemy of the people.”
