Chuck Schumer Threatens Supreme Court, Rebuked by Chief Justice (VIDEO)

US Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has drawn the ire of Chief Justice John Roberts and President Trump after making threatening remarks outside the Supreme Court aimed at Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

Speaking to pro-choice demonstrators outside as abortion arguments were heard, the New York Democrat aimed a vague threat at the two Trump-appointees shouting,

“I wanna tell you Neil Gorsuch, I wanna tell you Brett Kavanaugh – you have released the whirlwind! And you will pay the price! You won’t know what hit you if you move forward with these awful decisions.”

The Senator’s threats did not fall on deaf ears with some even calling for his resignation. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts took the unprecedented step of publicly rebuking Senator Schumer in a written statement which reads in part,

“Justices know that criticism comes with the territory, but threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous. All Members of the Court will continue to do their job, without fear or favor, from whatever quarter.”

President Trump called for Schumer to be held accountable tweeting,

“There can be few things worse in a civilized, law abiding nation, than a United States Senator openly, and for all to see and hear, threatening the Supreme Court or its Justices. This is what Chuck Schumer just did. He must pay a severe price for this!”

Senator Schumer’s colleague, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), has announced intentions to censure the Democrat majority leader tweeting,

“I would call on Schumer to apologize, but we all know he has no shame. So tomorrow I will introduce a motion to censure Schumer for his pathetic attempt at intimidation of #SupremeCourt”

While Sen. Schumer has gotten away with countless inappropriate remarks, Wednesday’s antics crossed a line into the taboo and it was proven that even he can’t say just anything.
