RESCHEDULED: The Louisiana Freedom Caucus PAC Event Is Now Set For June 6!

If you’ve been following Louisiana politics lately, you’re likely aware that there is a new organization of conservatives in the Louisiana legislature: the Louisiana Freedom Caucus. It’s a group of strong conservative legislators aligned with the House Freedom Caucus, the highly influential principled conservative group of congressmen in Washington D.C. who have done so much to make reforms in the House of Representatives.

The Freedom Caucus has been working to promote its principled agenda beyond the U.S. Capitol. To that end, it’s begun to build out a State Freedom Caucus Network, which has as of this writing resulted in the formation of Freedom Caucuses in 11 states, Louisiana being the latest one.

See more about that here.

Our organization, the Louisiana Freedom Caucus PAC, was formed to support the agenda and growth of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus. None of the Caucus’ members are on our board; we’re instead an independent group of Louisianans who want to see the state move in a small-government, ordered-liberty-oriented direction. We want to promote a traditional worldview while reducing the size and scope of state government and we want to get Louisiana off the bottom of the public policy metric rankings we’ve been mired in for decades thanks to the old-school socialist approach our state has suffered under since Huey Long.

And here’s how we’re going to do that.

First, we’ve polled many of the major issues surrounding the state’s politics, and that polling has helped to form the Freedom Caucus agenda. You’ll be seeing more about that as this legislative session goes on, because we’re going to be engaging in advocacy campaigns to make sure Freedom Caucus bills get fair hearings in the legislative chambers.

And second, this fall the Louisiana Freedom Caucus PAC plans to be involved in legislative races, in three ways.

We’ll be out to insure that Freedom Caucus members win re-election, and in the cases where they’re running for something other than their current seats, election.

We’ll be recruiting and supporting candidates who support the Freedom Caucus agenda and may well join the Caucus’ ranks next year.

And we’ll be working to oppose those legislators, and particularly Republicans, who stand in the way of freedom and progress for regular folks in the state.

Toward that end, we’ve got our first major fundraising event coming up on Tuesday, June 6, at the Hilton Hotel in Baton Rouge.

Speakers for the event will be announced at a date coming soon!

Tickets are $85. Table sponsorships are $1000. VIP sponsorships for the event are $2,500. There will be a VIP reception at 5:30 where you will be able to mingle with the Former Congressman and the current members of the Freedom Caucus. A cocktail reception will beginning at 6:30, with dinner and the program beginning shortly after 7 pm.
