The Day Tucker Carlson Was Fired, This Is What Was About To Air

In my American Spectator column today I’ve got an entry about the Stephen Sund interview Tucker Carlson did just before his firing…

You’ve probably seen the Tucker on Twitter (or is it Tucker on X now? That’s a title that isn’t going to work at all) interview of Devon Archer this week. That’s a must-watch even though Archer can’t uncover the entire picture of the Biden bribes. He can’t tell you that Joe and Hunter Biden were directly shaking down the people Archer was attempting to land as investors for his private equity fund, but he certainly can supply enough context as to make it very obvious what was happening.

But Carlson has something else to offer this week that is more important, even though it isn’t actually him doing the offering. From the National Pulse:

Former President Donald Trump has subpoenaed Fox News in an effort to attain an unaired interview with former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund. The interview was originally intended to air as part of then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s investigation into Jan 6 and the more than 40,000 hours of footage he was granted access to. The National Pulse yesterday released parts of the interview, with further clips due on Thursday afternoon.

One item of particular interest to Donald Trump’s legal team is comments that Sund may have made to Carlson regarding the presence of federal agents in the crowd on Jan 6. In an interview with English comedian Russell Brand, Carlson stated that Sund believed federal agents were among the crowds protesting the 2020 Presidential election result:

“I never thought there was a false flag or anything like that. I’m not a conspiracist by temperament… And then I interviewed the chief of the Capitol Police, Steven Sund – in an interview that was never aired on Fox by the way. I was fired before it could air… He was the chief of the Capitol Police on January 6 and he said ‘Oh yeah the crowd was filled with Federal agents.’ He would know of course because he was in charge of security at the site. So the more time that has passed, now it has been two-and-a-half years, it becomes really obvious that core claims they made about January 6 were lies.”

Carlson has said he’s going to re-interview Sund, so Fox News’ suppression of the former Capitol Police chief’s account of Jan. 6 won’t ultimately stand.

The quality of the leaked video isn’t terrific, but it’s good enough to understand what’s said:

Let’s just say that this doesn’t do the modern-day Inspector Javert, Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, any favors in his attempts to imprison Donald Trump for, per this week’s sham indictment, attempting to raise questions about the 2020 election.

And if you’re still watching Fox News, why? They kept this information from you for months. Shouldn’t that be punished by the marketplace?

A commenter noted something which was correct; namely, that Smith is much more a character from The Count of Monte Cristo, and specifically the protagonist Edmond Dantes’ antagonist Monseur Villefort, than Inspector Javert from Les Miserables. Then again, Villefort was happy to make his one big score and then slink away with his ill-gotten riches and status, while Javert, who unlike Villefort and Jack Smith is a stickler for the law, keeps coming like the Energizer bunny.

Jack Smith was the unscrupulous federal prosecutor who went after former Virginia governor Bob McDonnell on corruption charges when there was no evidence he’d actually done anything. McDonnell was convicted, but the Supreme Court threw out that conviction on a 9-0 vote in a landmark case.

That’s an interesting aside, but it’s neither here nor there in the main thrust of this – which is that here you have the chief of the Capitol Police, whom Nancy Pelosi later got rid of, essentially saying that Jan. 6 was a Reichstag fire event. He said the crowd was full of federal agents, who are most properly described as agents provocateur, and he said the failure to properly support the Capitol Police when the intelligence was readily available as to the size of the crowd that would be on hand at the Capitol, not to mention the overreaction afterward – the razor wire and armed cordon around the building, complete with the assignment of the buffoonish Russell Honore to oversee the “emergency” security, and Sund’s firing after the fact, lend the air of a cover-up to all of this.

Stephen Sund was never called to testify by Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Committee.

That riot at the Capitol disrupted a planned exposition in front of the American people of the very irregularities in vote-counting and other deficiencies in the election that the legacy corporate media has for three years denied happened in the 2020 election.

And Carlson was let go before this interview could air. Just before, as a matter of fact.

Do you not think that Stephen Sund saying there’s a considerable cover-up of what really happened on Jan. 6, and that the crowd was salted with agitators working for the feds, was newsworthy enough that Fox News should have aired it at some point? Even if Carlson was rightly fired, from their perspective, for different reasons – they had that tape. And it’s been months since the firing but they didn’t air it?

Very peculiar.

Now that Smith has managed to indict Trump essentially for doing exactly the same thing Al Gore did, which is to fight to the end an election he thought was stolen from him (and frankly, Trump had a lot better case than Gore), this leak is even more relevant.

And honestly, you aren’t a conspiracy nut if all of this strikes you as a grand coup d’etat by the ruling elite.

We already know the 2020 election was marked by some rather obnoxious irregularities. There was the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop by a bunch of partisan Democrats in the law enforcement and intelligence communities, there was Zuckerbucks, which led to the ballot-harvesting and likely voter fraud around the election itself, there were other things. Trump bears a lot of fault for not addressing some of these things as they were happening before the election; he saw them coming and he whined about it, but as state after state blew open their election rules, often in violation of the laws their legislatures had written – and remember, the Constitution sets state legislatures up as the arbiters of state election laws, not courts or secretaries of state – Trump didn’t do anything about it.

And his post-election efforts at uncovering and protesting the fraud got sideways in a hurry when they were wrapped up in Lin Wood and Sidney Powell, wild tales about Dominion voting machines and foreign hacking of the elections. That was never going to bear fruit with the American populace where ballot harvesting and bizarre actions of vote-counters very well might have. As we know from post-election surveys, more than 10 percent of Joe Biden’s voters say they wouldn’t have voted for him had they known what was on Hunter’s laptop.

And more Americans than not have had our confidence in the integrity of our elections shaken. More Americans than not believe there was a significant federal role in what happened on January 6.

Which is to say that even without most Americans seeing this interview Carlson did with Sund, they already see the contours of a coup d’etat.

Ringing Capitol Hill with razor wire and armed National Guardsmen sure looked like there was a coup. And firing Carlson so America couldn’t see the Sund interview looks like the cover-up to a coup. So does prosecuting a former president for having tried to fight back against those irregularities.

And given that Trump was impeached for looking into the Bidens’ greasy Ukraine deals, something we’re finding out he was correct in doing, we already know the lengths the ruling class would go to in defense of their power.

You don’t even have to be a Trump fan to pick up the rotten smell to all of this. You might even think Trump isn’t up to the challenge of defeating these people. But what’s certain here is that something is very, very wrong in America, and Washington, DC is at its center.
