Along the entire Gulf Coast, red snapper snug up close to shore during the autumn months, making them super easy for anglers to access. That being the case, I didn’t have to even think about it this week when buddy Ray Neu invited me to tag along with him on a snapper quest while we were both visiting our Perdido, Fla., condos.
Perdido-based anglers are presented with two options: fishing the nearshore waters off Gulf Shores or heading east and hitting those off Pensacola Beach. Neu opted for the latter, and it was a great choice, as we found good action from the first drop.
