Louisiana has an excellent opportunity to advance and work to correct many issues that have caused many good people to leave. There’s new Republican leadership in the Governor’s office, and conservatives have a supermajority – which on Nov. 18 might even grow – in the House and Senate. Wow!

Lafayette and the consolidated cities surrounding it are the jewel of an area we call Acadiana. But if we are not careful, informed, and committed to voting in the current runoff election, Lafayette will begin to slide backward, and generations of decline could follow. Josh Guillory has earned the confidence of the people in the city’s departments who work alongside him.

Look at it this way: all six parish Chiefs of Police and Mayors, our District Attorney, and our Sheriff are ALL united in saying NO! to Monique Blanco. The leaders of the major industries in our city and parish are also united AGAINST electing Monique Blanco Boulet. More importantly, though, all these people are decidedly FOR Josh Guillory.

Monique Blanco – the daughter of Louisiana’s failed former Democrat governor – has used deplorable tactics to distract from her own unethical acts. It may sound comical (but it’s not) to liken her to Hillary Clinton, who also screeched about corruption, collusion, and crimes, all the while being the one guilty of such.

Remember: Monique has NEVER promoted conservative or Republican ideology until she decided to run for mayor of Lafayette this year. It’s an exceedingly flimsy facade. But how does a well-known Democrat dump her base but keep their support? She is relying on her lifetime liberal contacts to fund her deceptive campaign. Why are they funding her, especially after she ‘dumped’ them?

Blanco-B was invited to appear on a mostly-unknown (to conservatives) video podcast where the host quickly got to the point: his viewers/listeners wanted to know why the sudden switch. Her answer:

“A Democrat cannot win here.”

They chuckled briefly, knowingly.  We can only assume her frankness was to calm down her loyal Democrat base. No doubt there were lots of winks and “go get ’em’s” from her lib funding sources while writing out their checks. Her campaign has primarily been funded by out-of-town and out-of-state liberals who will not be affected by her decisions and policies.

Friends, the truth is this: for nearly four years, some city council members who have opposed Josh from the beginning wasted the public’s time and money by working to undermine real progress because it wasn’t THEIR liberal agenda.  They spent hundreds of thousands of your money to “investigate” our mayor while using out-of-town law firms to do whatever they did, and eventually produced ZERO. Those members did not run for re-election, interestingly, because they knew they’d lose after putting the Mayor and the entire Parish through their circus. But they sure got their headline: Mayor-President Investigated for — you name it. In fact, Monique has hinged her entire campaign on that failed attempt to smear Josh.

One would assume now that Josh has been through all that it would be put to rest, but no.  The same group who managed to successfully sell John Bel Edwards TWICE to a decidedly RED district, is back ….. and using Monique Blanco-B dressed in a red blazer essentially crashing republican events to get a photo.  She uses these photos to deceive locals with the perception that she has Republican leadership support.  She has none.

Now that John Bel Edwards’ consultants are out of work at the state level, they are rebuilding from the bottom to infiltrate at the LOCAL level. Monique intends to follow her mother’s path to be “Kathleen Blanco 2.0′ as governor once Jeff Landry’s term is up.

Monique tries to defend her new-found conservatism by saying she’d never have an abortion for religious reasons.  She thinks by declaring how she, herself, wouldn’t have an abortion as proof of her conservative values.  When you think about it though, John Bel Edwards was successfully branded as a conservative-democrat (?!) on account of his time at West Point and with photographs of him hunting, and by simply declaring he and his wife didn’t choose to abort a child.

Monique has used her substantial liberal influence, position, and connections from a lifetime of elite democrat political circles to shield a member of her own household from the natural consequences of repeated public racist slurs and drunk driving violations. She also, as head of the Acadiana Planning Commission, gave a vast $30 million public (as in, taxpayer-funded) contract to her own sister’s company. It’s a well-worn tactic of using outrageous language and claims to distract people from looking at what the accuser is attempting to hide.

In fact, the same type of “corruption” claims liberal council members failed to pin on Josh Guillory (the same lib council members comprising Monique’s echo chamber), is the standard run of the mill operating procedure for…wait for it… Did you guess right? Ms. Blanco-Whatever, herself. She learned very well from her lifetime party’s hero, Hillary Clinton.

Now let’s sum this up.

• I stand with Josh because he still cares about doing this job and wants to continue.
• Being a young, successful business owner and deeply devoted family man, he nailed a considerable learning curve, with only a few minor and fixable missteps, having never been a politician.
• Josh handled a never-before world virus event, COVID-19, in a way that has proven absolutely correct.
• Our roads are being fixed for the first time in decades.
• Public spaces are being revitalized and beautified.
• Parks are getting make-overs, and new parks are in the works.
• The drainage issues that cost thousands of people their homes and treasured memories are being repaired – not just talked about it as it dies a slow death by committee.

Josh still wants to serve despite non-stop media bias, years of threats and intrusive politically motivated investigations. The best part is Josh just last week, stood up to the tax-and-spend liberals and to his very own tax assessor (Conrad Comeaux, who appears has completely gone off the deep end) who are trying to shove more taxes down our throats and said “No” with a veto.  Josh argued there was already plenty money to do what Lafayette needs to be done.

Can you believe it?  Someone is finally saying what we’ve all known: there is a huge amount of WASTE of taxpayer money in city government, and raising our taxes won’t be tolerated.  Be assured, our jewel of a Parish will keep progressing forward without raising our taxes.

It is challenging to find people willing to put up with the considerable downside that’s sadly heaped upon anyone willing to act rather than being a complainer behind a keyboard.

Josh has incredible support from everyday citizens, business leaders, civic organizations, and ALL other elected or appointed positions pertaining directly to his position as Mayor-President. He has tripled Team Blanco in fundraising, because the business community likes what it sees from him.  Unlike his opponent, Josh’s supporters and donors live here, work here, and raise their families here. His supporters will be directly affected by his decisions and actions. Believe THEM, not what’s being hurled at you by Monique and funded by far-away liberal loyalists who don’t care about you, your business, your children, your job, or our city parish.
