OWEN: Next On The Parade Of Horribles? Plea Deals For Terrorists!

There is plenty of shame to go around on this day.   We’re finding out this morning that the Biden Administration is ponying up to a plea deal with some of the monsters who perpetrated the September 11th 2001 terror attacks.

Shame on the people who allowed this happen over the last 23 years.    From the moment we decided to fight back against the Muslim terrorists who slaughtered almost 3,000 innocent civilians on 9/11, there has been a concerted effort by pockets of anti-American Americans and others who wanted to thwart our ability to bring to justice the murderers of our people.

As a point of context, after World War II, the allied forces—lead by the US—rounded up the perpetrators of the greatest atrocities of the Second World War.  Trials were held basically via military tribunal and punishment was meted out.  Many of the monsters who slaughtered civilians died via the business end of a rope, some in Europe and some Asia.

From the World War II Museum, I quote directly  “ The indictment against 24 major war criminals and seven organizations was filed on October 18, 1945 by the four chief prosecutors of the International Military Tribunal. On November 20, the trial began with 21 defendants appearing before the court. The United States held 12 additional trials in Nuremberg after the initial International Military Tribunal. In all, 199 defendants were tried, 161 were convicted, and 37 were sentenced to death.”

We had precedent on our side after 9/11  but we did not have the courage.   And, apparently we still do not.   Looking back, I believe the US Congress should have declared war on Afghanistan and the parent organization of terror who perpetrated the bloodshed in New York, DC and in the Pennsylvania countryside.

If Congress refused to declare war, the Bush Administration should have proceeded regardless with Executive Authority.    I believe the Bush Administration should have ignored court directives to stop the tribunal proceedings and I believe Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his friends should have been given swift and fair trials and if convicted, they should have been introduced to room temperature via a hangman’s noose.

Bush and his people got weak kneed, chased shiny objects in Iraq, and were in all likelihood more worried about inflaming the Muslim world than with defending our republic and our honor.  The Obama Administration made matters worse.     Trump had a chance, but did not carry out the punishment or even the trails that were certainly merited.   It’s doubtful Biden even knows there is such a thing as Guantanamo Bay or a monster called KSM who killed thousands of Americans.

To make matters worse, there were many detainees we just held on to at Guantanamo without even giving them trials.   We seized people on foreign battlefields and locked them up and never gave them a trial.   THAT type of tyranny is just as detestable as cutting a plea deal with the demons in question.  But the government OWES an answer to the American people as to why they didn’t give these people trials—20 years ago!  Most of us know it was because they didn’t want to inflame the Muslim world  and I wish someone would have the nerve to say it.

We are the United States of America.  We are supposed to the be the ones who wear the white hats and do the right things.  Apparently, it’s more important to don the yellow stripe down the back and try to coddle the wolves who would eat you if given the chance.

Striking a plea deal with any of the remaining perpetrators of 9/11 is a stain on our honor.  It’s spitting in the face of survivors of the loved ones and it’s trampling on the graves on the soldiers we sent overseas to ostensibly bring these people to justice.  Unacceptable and dishonorable.
