If you’ve seen clips of the interview with 60 Minutes’ Bill Whitaker that Kamala Harris gave, you already know what a disaster it was. Whitaker was hardly a hostile interviewer, but on the couple of questions he actually did press her on she completely crumpled.
There has been a whole lot of talk about just how bad this interview was over the past couple of days. Harris, in fact, is now engaged in a spate of interviews – which as many are noting, is a change from the previous strategy of having nothing whatsoever to say to the media, and is almost certainly the product of some bad internal polling. Unfortunately for her, none of them have gone well. Even in bad interviews being done by sycophant interviewers, she’s failing.
Probably the best summation of how terrible this has gone came this morning when Sky News Australia had Megyn Kelly on to talk about it.
And Kelly completely knocked it out of the park. This is the best 15-20 minutes you’re going to spend today.
She gets into the awful 60 Minutes interview and some of the other interviews Harris has flubbed. And she also gets into the Harris-Ron DeSantis imbroglio – if you happened to miss that one, what happened was that Harris attempted to insert herself into DeSantis’ efforts to prepare Florida for Hurricane Milton’s arrival later this week but then publicly whined that he wouldn’t take a phone call from her, and DeSantis responded publicly that she has no role in hurricane preparation or recovery, has never done anything along those lines and has nothing to offer, and by the way he’s talking with her boss, and then Joe Biden (who may or may not be sabotaging her campaign here and there) backed DeSantis.
Finally, she talks about the Doug Emhoff domestic violence issue, which came up amid reports that Emhoff slapped a woman he was dating 12 years ago so hard that he spun her around. Kelly went through the whole story and its ramifications, noting the mainstream US media won’t touch it despite the fact there are three corroborating witnesses in the Daily Mail’s initial story.
Anybody on the fence about whether Kamala Harris is supportable as a presidential candidate probably ought to see this interview. If Megyn Kelly doesn’t convince you just how bad Harris is, you can’t be convinced.
