NO DEAL: The Iranian Regime Must Not Be Given Another Chance

Editor’s Note: a guest post by Robert H. Wright

For over four decades, Iran’s ruling clerical regime has clung to power through fear, violence, and repression. Its rule has brought suffering to its own people and instability to the entire Middle East. While the Iranian people long for freedom, their voices have been silenced by a government that answers dissent with brutality.

This is not just an internal issue—it is a global threat. The regime’s support for terrorism, its hostility toward Israel, and its confrontational stance toward the United States continue to endanger peace and security worldwide.

Today, in the wake of U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear weapons facilities at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan which followed after the regime refused to deal in good faith with President Trump, Iran stands at a tipping point. Internal unrest is growing. International scrutiny is intensifying. And once again, some in the global community are tempted to strike deals, hoping diplomacy will temper tyranny.

But let’s be clear:

Appeasement has never worked.

History shows us that giving authoritarian regimes time and space to regroup only leads to more aggression. Just as we did not allow past tyrannies to rearm and rise again, we must not allow this regime the opportunity to recover and resume its threats.

The people of Iran deserve better. They deserve dignity. They deserve a voice. They deserve a future free from religious dictatorship and political fear.

We must not strike a deal that strengthens their oppressors.

We must stand with the people of Iran and support their fight for freedom and democracy.

No deal. No delay. End this now.
