After two months of a standoff between Louisiana Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu and the White House on President Obama’s choice to head the Office of Management and Budget, Landrieu struck her colors and sailed away from the fight last night.
Landrieu’s release of her hold on Jacob Lew’s nomination, which she had placed as a protest of the Obama administration’s offshore drilling ban, allowed Lew to fly through to confirmation on a Senate voice vote.
