BREAKING: Landrieu Votes To Continue Bailing Out Wall Street

Today in the Senate, an amendment authored by John Thune (R-SD) aimed at repealing the authority of the U.S. Treasury to continue doling out $320 billion in remaining TARP funds to Wall Street banks and other corporate “fatcats” failed.

It failed because it only picked up 53 votes, seven short of what was needed under Senate rules.

The measure would have been appended to a Senate resolution authorizing a $1.9 trillion increase in the federal debt limit.

Among the 45 Senate Democrats voting against the measure? Louisiana’s Mary Landrieu.

Hmmm. It seems that "born-again virgin" Mary hasn't really learned her lesson. But that's not what she said in her recent comments on Scott Brown's election:

“The loss in Massachusetts should serve as a wake-up call to the wing of the Democratic Party that wants the federal government to overreach and overspend. We need to get back to the basics. Senate Democrats must use this setback to increase our efforts to find bipartisan, fiscally responsible solutions that makes sense to Americans of all walks of life."
