Want To Hear (And See) Something Beautiful?

Never thought that there could be a rendition of our National Anthem better than Whitney Houston’s back in 1991? Well, we’ve got one for you.

This is Alex Boyé, who is going to be singing at Glenn Beck’s Restoring Love event at Texas Stadium in Dallas, which starts tomorrow. Boyé was was born in London’s Tottenham Court neighborhood to a Nigerian mother—he never knew his father– and migrated to the United States years ago. A natural-born singer, he has been asked to deliver the “Star Spangled Banner” many times since he moved to America and began working on his citizenship.

He became a citizen on Feb. 22—George Washington’s brithday—and was unexpectedly asked to come to the stage and sing. It was his first time to sing the National Anthem as an American citizen and this is how it went down:

If that doesn’t give you a lump in your throat—well, hell, you just ain’t American.

Congratulations to Mr. Boyé. I only wish many of our natural-born citizens would have half as much as a love of country as he does. We need more like him.
