The above video has parts of the 911 call that Democrat State Senator Troy Brown’s now ex-wife, Toni, placed when her husband attacked her again. This apparently was not the first time Ascension Parish Sheriff’s deputies had been to the house to break up a fight between the two of them.

Troy started the argument by throwing down the TV Toni was watching. He also bit her.

Here’s a recap of what’s happened since, from WAFB:

Toni later told deputies the senator had physically abused her in the past. In the report, the investigator stated that another deputy had been out to the residence five months earlier for a domestic disturbance call. It resulted in no arrest due to a lack of physical evidence.

According to court documents, in October, Troy Brown filed for divorce. The record also shows that this past November, his wife filed a request to have the charges against her husband dropped, but the District Attorney’s office still prosecuted the case.

Troy Brown’s future in the State Senate is unclear. Several of his colleagues have openly called for his expulsion.

Troy Brown has been dealing with domestic violence issues for over a year now. Back in November 2015 on Bayou Classic weekend, Brown was originally arrested for beating up his mistress. Brown sponsored the legislation that created the Louisiana Domestic Violence Commission.

He was arrested again in July, this time for beating his wife.
