BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) – Louisiana state Sen. Troy Hebert will be named as the new commissioner for the Alcohol and Tobacco Control Board on Wednesday.
A Jindal administration official confirmed Hebert will replace Murphy Painter, who resigned back in August after a former employee accused him of stalking her and using a state database to view thousands of people’s personal information.
Painter’s case is pending in court.
A Jindal aide said Hebert “is expected to be appointed with a wide array of support from industry leaders, law enforcement officials and legislators.”
Louisiana State Police will make the announcement.
