Sorry, Charlie.

Guilty on 12 counts.

(CNN) A House ethics subcommittee found Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-New York, guilty Tuesday on multiple violations of House rules after executive session deliberations.

On Monday, Rangel walked out of the House ethics subcommittee trial, complaining he has not had sufficient time to hire a new legal team to respond to alleged ethics allegations.

The subcommittee rejected Rangel’s request to delay the hearing until a new defense team is assembled.

The subcommittee found Rangel guilty of 12 of the 13 charges against him. He faced allegations including failing to pay taxes on a home in the Dominican Republic, misuse of a rent-controlled apartment for political purposes and improper use of government mail service and letterhead.

No word yet on the consequences. You’d think this would justify an explusion from Congress, and one would imagine if it doesn’t happen before January it certainly will at that point.

At which time we’ll find out that racism was the reason, and that Charlie was railroaded.

Let’s remember that this was the head of the Ways and Means Committee, which writes the tax laws, in Nancy Pelosi’s House of Representatives before being forced to resign earlier this year.

Here’s a question – can we do anything to the imbeciles in Rangel’s Harlem congressional district who voted him back into office with 79.9 percent of the vote? Can we send them a bill for what Rangel cost the taxpayers?
