U.S. Rep. John Fleming (R-Shreveport) took to the House floor yesterday during debate of H.R. 72, the House Regulation Resolution, to pick up on three items of concern to Louisiana – the Obama administration’s failure to reinstate oil drilling in the Gulf despite, as he notes, the Interior Department’s having been found in contempt of federal court for having violated a ruling that their moratorium on drilling was illegal, the attempts to impose stifling federal regulations on hydraulic fracturing and a new effort by the feds to regulate commercial and recreational fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.
Video of the speech is below. Feel free to stop it before Ed Markey starts talking, though it cuts him off before he can launch too far into his tirade against the oil companies.
